Aiguille du Goléon (3427m), classic route

A unique view of La Meije and its surrounding glaciers

The Aiguille du Goléon offers a unique viewpoint of La Meije and its surrounding glaciers. From the summit, we can also contemplate the glacier Lombard, the Aiguilles d'Arves, as well as the Vercors range, the Mont Blanc and even the Monte Viso in Italy when the weather is clear. It is the second highest summit of the Arves mountain range. Its beautiful pyramidal shape and its striated South face make it easily recognizable. This climb is a first step into the world of the high mountains and is the perfect summit for a mountaineering initiate. It is said to have been the first 3000 summited by French alpinist René Desmaison. During the day, you will hike through a landscape of lakes, green slopes, snowfields and rocks.
