Col de Côte Plaine
A breathtaking ski tour offering unique views of the Meije massif
Col de Côte Plaine is one of those technically easy ski tours with stunning panoramas and a beautiful final descent. We will start our hike slightly below the Col du Lautaret (2058m / 6,751ft). We first skin up a small valley, following the mountain stream of Roche Noire along its left bank. Then, we turn west at the end of this valley and continue upwards until we reach the Col de Côte Plaine (2639m / 8,658ft). From there, the view of the Écrins massif and especially la Meije is awe inspiring. The descent heads down a nice southwest facing slope, where we eventually reach the village of Villar d'Arène, the final point of a fantastic loop! Côte Plaine is a fantastic beginner to intermediate ski tour to do around la Grave! Vertical: +750m (+2,460ft) -1000m (-3,280ft)

You are able to walk 2 to 4 hours with a light day backpack.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN ON EACH DAY?
Day 1
That day, your meeting time is at 8:45am at the guide office.
You'll meet your guide and he will lend you the security gear (tranceiver, shovel, probe)
Don't forget your back pack (30L)
Your outing will be from 9am to 4pm.
The program of the day depends on the snow conditions, weather forecast, your level, and your desires.
You have to had a picnic (you will also pay the lunch for the guide).
