The Vallon du Fontenil
Great skiing with many options in the heart of a wild valley
The starting point of our ski tour will be the tiny village of Les Boussardes (1626m / 5,334ft), located by the Guisane river slightly before the Col du Lautaret on the Briançon side. From there, we skin up through a beautiful larch forest on the left bank of the Fontenil valley. We continue our way to a bench at the level of the Combeynot lake. Finally, a small valley leads us to more gentle slopes, and we reach the Col des Jumelles Sud (2986m / 9,796ft), characterized by two small rock towers. This ski touring itinerary of the Vallon du Fontenil is a very nice classic where we can often find powder in winter, with an ascent through wild landscapes and a descent guaranteeing great skiing. The icing on the cake is the regular sight of chamois! Vertical: +/-1360m (4,461ft)
HOW DIFFICULT WILL THE TRIP BE?

WHAT LEVEL OF PHYSICAL FITNESS DO I NEED?
Intermediate
You are in good physical shape and can easily climb between 3 to 5 hours with a backpack between 6-8kg.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN ON EACH DAY?
Day 1
That day, your meeting time is at 8:45am at the guide office.
You'll meet your guide and he will lend you the security gear (tranceiver, shovel, probe)
Don't forget your back pack (30L)
Your outing will be from 9am to 4pm.
The program of the day depends on the snow conditions, weather forecast, your level, and your desires.
You can eat lunch in one of the 2 restaurants on the ski slopes (you will also pay the lunch for the guide).
